Elim Park proudly maintains its accreditation through CARF International, the only accrediting body for Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) known as Life Plan Communities. In 1988, Elim Park became Connecticut’s first senior living community to earn this prestigious accreditation—and we’ve upheld it ever since. This distinction reflects our unwavering commitment to quality, ensuring that we meet the highest standards in health and human services year after year. U.S. News & World Report: Best Short-Term Rehabilitation for 2025

Elim Park Rehabilitation and Health Care Center has been honored by US News & World Report as one of the best short-term rehabilitation centers for 2025, earning a “High Performing” designation. This recognition reflects key performance metrics, including the percentage of residents able to return home, fall prevention, infection control, and nurse staffing levels. Elim Park Rehabilitation and Health Care Center has again earned a prestigious 5-star rating from CMS, a testament to its exceptional care standards. Cheshire, CT - AARP Age-Friendly Community

In addition to these achievements, Elim Park is proud to be part of the vibrant community of Cheshire, CT, which recently earned recognition for its efforts to become more age-friendly. Cheshire earned its membership in the AARP Age-Friendly Network, joining a global initiative to improve the quality of life for seniors. Cheshire is one of only eight towns in Connecticut listed on AARP’s Age-Friendly Communities Map. A representative from Elim Park now sits on the town’s Age-Friendly Subcommittee, helping to represent the needs and achievements of its senior residents.

In 2022, the Town of Cheshire, under the leadership of the Youth and Human Services-Senior Living Subcommittee and the Cheshire Senior Center, pursued membership in the AARP Age-Friendly Network. As part of this effort, the town developed the Age-Friendly Cheshire Action Plan based on feedback gathered through community surveys, listening sessions, and focus groups. Cheshire’s first five-year cycle began in 2022, with goals set to be achieved by 2027.
