On August 3rd, It was our distinct honor to welcome Governor Ned Lamont to Elim Park, along with state and town officials, to ceremoniously sign Senate Bill 1088. This legislation helps to protect seniors from financial exploitation and provides another layer of protection against financial fraud and scams. It authorizes financial institutions to temporarily suspend or hold transactions or disbursements involving an older adult’s accounts if there is reasonable suspicion or financial exploitation. This law will take effect in July 2024.
